Women Sponsoring Women: Building a community of support
In a world full of uncertainty and challenges to women’s rights, many things can feel beyond our control. What we can control are the small actions we take to support our community. These small efforts create a ripple effect, making a real difference in someone’s life.
Now more than ever, we need women helping women, building a community of support, and becoming not just mentors but active sponsors. By taking even the smallest steps to uplift one another, we can create a lasting, positive impact.
This is about women sponsoring women.
This is a community of women dedicated to supporting each other. Here, women can openly ask for what they need and others respond with small actions that make a big difference.
For every woman who reaches out, others step in to provide meaningful support, creating a powerful impact through collective action.
Once a month for five months, a group of women come together, sharing food, laughter, updates, and support. During each gathering, women can make an "ask"—anything from career support or event planning to navigating a personal challenge. No ask is too big or too small; what matters is that you're expressing your need in a supportive space where others respond thoughtfully.
Women Sponsoring Women hosts in person gatherings in the Greater Seattle area and virtual groups nationally.
How it works
FAQs
-
If you are a mid-career woman passionate about uplifting others by taking meaningful action and offering support, you might enjoy being a part of this community.
-
Examples of meaningful support include:
If your ask is about finding a new job, the group might ask questions to understand your goals better and then offer actionable support, such as reviewing your resume, conducting mock interviews, or connecting you with professional contacts.
If your nonprofit needs help with a fundraiser, others might volunteer, donate, or help spread the word.
If you need help with childcare or pet care, members might provide referrals, share their experiences, or even offer assistance directly.
Each woman then follows through on her action that month. These acts of support, no matter how small, are what create real and lasting impact.
-
We encourage members to feel comfortable requesting support for their needs, whether big or small, whether career-related or personal. However, we kindly ask that members avoid requests related to politics, religion, or direct solicitations.
